A new year has come, full of hope and dreams. 2011 hasn't been a kind year to the majority of the people I know, maybe to me as well. Nevertheless, it has taught me a hell out of a lesson: things change, so we have to be positive and adaptable. People come and go, health is not a granted issue, there may be moments of fear that you will lose a loved person, there may be times that you will have to spend days and nights by the side of your best friend, you may live in a place you don't like, you may go through phases that you can't control and so on. BUT positive people keep their heads high, they learn their lesson and they keep on dreaming. Bad times exist only to show up the good ones. In 2011 I figured out the depth of my love for some people, I reconciled some old friendships, I threw away some heavy sentiments and -above all- I found him. I am quite sure that in 2012 I will learn more, and I'll spread the love. After all, that's all that counts.

Here I am, enjoying my Christmas holidays at my parents' place in Goteborg, Sweden. A lot of things changed since my last outfit post (longer hair, less weight, new life), but -no matter my long absence- I still love blogging; I have new perceptions about style and fashion, though, thinking in a more mature way. I had a terrible flight -15 hours of delay-, but everything seemed right by the time I stepped in my parents' home. I have so many things to share, and I am gonna be a regular blogger at least during my Christmas break, promise.

Laura Would Be Jealous

Two months ago, when I got that dress in my hands (mum's purchase), I was instantly like "Sorry mum, but I'm not Laura from The Little House on the Prairie". As a natural consequence, it has been hanging in my closet for more than a month. It was one of these mornings, though, when the eternal style question rised up AGAIN: "What am I going to wear today?". And there it was, silently waiting for my look. I gave it a try and that was it, it looked kinda cute; not to mention its beautiful back. It's like meeting somebody you used to dislike, and after a conversation or two you are ashamed to admit that the certain person is basically a potential friend. Instinct is good, either to clothes or to people, but be sure that you always look twice. (By the way, that was the most easygoing dress I've ever worn.)

There are some posts that I love, and that is certainly one of those. The weather was perfect, the background was wicked and my sister was having a blast with the camera. Plus, I decided to take a step back to my teenage years and try a middle parting, which I am not sure whether I like it or not -yet. That is my dad's ancient camera that I use to have as a decorative detail in my office. September is just a step away, and despite my blues for not being a university student anymore, I can't help feeling positive about the new season. I hope you feel like that as well, you know I love you.

That's me right now. Normally, my compulsive nature would make me feel kind of guilty. But, as my all time role model, John Lennon, used to say "Time you enjoy waisting, is not waisted". And who am I to disagree?

From the moment I was born, mum has always been a basic part of my life frame. She was the one to calm me down when I had those terrible fights at school, to take care of my well being, to comfort me after those horrible nightmares, to give birth to my beloved little sis and make life seem so easy with her endless energy sources. 20 something years later, she still takes care of me as if I was a 6 year old brat. You know, I'm one of those infuriating people who hate expressing their true feelings to other people, especially to the closest ones. Yet, I feel so damn lucky to have them in my life, even if they live in a different country. I love them as hell, and I feel thankful every single day. And I'm sure they know.

I've always been hesitant to answers questions like "What's your signature style?", because I am a firm believer that a person with a deep faith in Vogue never follows a style routine. Fashion is a game and you have to stay away from the rules in order to create your own thing. Frankly enough, I always feel more like me when I'm wearing a pair of nice fitting jeans and a white cotton T-shirt, combined with a killer pair of leopard pumps. Nevertheless, playing with different styles seems so much more fun; I didn't wear cropped tops for a million of years (the last time was in my 14 years of age), but I'll stick to them for the upcoming season, as they look so innocently sexy combined with a high waisted skirt/ pair of trousers. Marilyn would approve, so would Elvis, don't you think?

Sudocrem Skin Cream

I really enjoy being pampered, I love collecting dozens of colorful tubes and I am such a sucker for beautiful scents; I would never call my self a beauty blogger though, as soon as I stick to my make up routines, keeping it simple all the way. BUT, concerning skincare, I can call myself an expert.

I was recently sent 3 tubes of Sudocrem skin care cream (yes, the one used for nappy rash by mothers all around the world). In a first glance, the tubes were small in size, handy and the texture was REALLY rich.

The company claims that Sudocrem protects against irritants, moisturizes and helps to remove blemishes; all in all, a miracle for the delicate skin. After using it for a week, I have to say that it is the best moisturizer after a long day at the beach, as my flaky nose turned back into normal after a use or two! Its low price (almost 3e) has nothing to do with its superior quality, not to mention the duration (you have to use such a little quantity to do the job). So, I tucked one sample in my bag and I gave the others to my mum and sister. I think I'll stick with it, after all, Cheryl Cole swears by the product, why not me?

Who's the birthday girl today?

My birthday is usually one of the worst days of the year (seriously, it has been like that over the past 3-4 years) so I always hated to celebrate it. This year, though, made the hell out of a difference. Growing up means getting wiser, and I really feel like I've learnt my lesson(s). I got the most wonderful wishes, and I really felt so blessed that my phone didn't stop ringing all day long, hearing thoughtful wishes from loved ones, not to mention all these wishes in my FB profile. We Are On A Break

My last semester at the University has been such a messy period of time, working in public schools, spending much time in front of the computer screen, going up and down the city, writing essays every day. I still wonder whether I could make it without my control freak Olga, who brought on surface my Virgo self and supressed my fuzzy Gemini personality!

I am a massive internet addict, as you may have figured out yourselves. I love searching for inspiration, new ideas and stuff, and the net world is the perfect place to do so, after a tiring day at work. Whenever I find something interesting, I immediately want to share it with my loved ones, so, my last discovery was a site named 1000awesomethings, where I spent much time smiling in front of my screen. It's a wonderful Sunday morning, I woke up after 12 amazing hours of sleep and I am getting ready for the gym. I've got tons of paperwork and assignments to do for the university, and I still can't get my head on it. Trying to be organized when you are -apparently- not is so difficult when spring time is on. Thank God I have the most wonderful collaborator in the world, Olga. I forgot to tell you that I am working as a teacher in a public school for the last 2 weeks, in a class of 16 year olds, doing my practice as an English teacher. I still do not know whether I am made for that, but I am sure life will lead the way. My students are so fun that they make me forget about waking up at 5.30am.

That is such a quickie for an outfit post, but I really do not have time to photoshoot these days. Bear with me, in two weeks time it's Easter, I already have many outfit & DIY posts on my mind. Have a relaxing Sunday!

I just came home after a four day break in a city I love since last year. I had a wonderful time and I bet many of you enjoyed some time off as well. But no matter how much I enjoy travelling, there's nothing like returning home. After taking a quick look at all that mail chaos, responding to calls and trying to make a fast fix of all that mess around my office, all I want is to have a bath, a manicure and hug my bed till the morning.

I took these pictures some days ago, and -as you can absolutely see- the lighting sucked, I did my best though. I really want to share with you some of my night outfits but the photos seem so poorly lighted, so I intentionally avoid it. I really wanna try, so take that as a promise (or threat, whatever). I am going to pamper me for the next hours, just for you to know, have fun!

I just came home after gym. On the way back I went into some shops and inevitably came across all these wonderfully colorful spring clothes. Everything seemed so beautiful in contrast to the heavy winter coats, still hanging on the hangers. I bought a silk dress that I will probably wear in July. And a sheer orange summer top. And I felt like a total fool, for the love of Chanel, it is still 5 degrees outside!!! The same thing happened last August, when I bought a fur coat. That is how idiot feels like.

As everybody knows, fitness clothes can easily look slouchy, chubby and distasteful. Being a fitness freak for the past couple of years (and a simultaneous style lover of all time) made me discover Adidas by Stella McCartney a few years ago. Last week I was lucky enough to be contacted by Adidas, to take a deep look to the s/s 2011 collection and express my opinion.

I guess everybody knows Adidas means innovative lines, quality materials, and high performance. Now, imagine all these highlighted by Stella McCartney's spectacular designs. The new line is called "Weekender" and along with the Gym Yoga and Gym Studio lines (which are the absolute choice of every fashionable yogi), it has been introduced at the London Fashion Week 2010. What caught my attention are the elegant leopard designs and the new underwear line of seamless and buttery soft materials. What is more, there is a wide price range, from 10 to 450e. The collection is so great, that absolutely made my heart beat faster.

My all time shopping rule is one: NEVER buy something you can make on your own. When I first saw Christophe Decarnin's (my all time favorite fashion designer) Spring/Summer 2011 collection for Balmain, my heart probably skipped some beats. The certain T-shirts, though, are priced around 1035e *ouch, Christophe!*, so I bought an H&M men T-shirt, some safety pins, ripped the Tee with a razor blade, put the safety pins on and here it is! I was wearing it last night, and it made quite an effect! Try it guys, it is so easy and it really looks like the original one (extra point: you save around 1025e, go buy a purse now!).

Love it or hate it? I love it so much, I will absolutely get my self a white one too!

Style Matters: 10 Style Traps for Men

When it comes to men, I always think: why so much drama? A man can look gorgeous just in pair of ripped/old jeans, a white T-shirt and a pair of All-Stars.Yet, I only met a handful of stylish males (one of them is my best friend). After a laborious investigation (exaggerating, once again) and a little help from my friends, here are the results of the query:

1.Deep V-neck: It is disgusting. Absolutely not sexy. Hairy or waxed chest, it doesn't make the slightest difference. Even worse when super tight. Shoot me.

2.Wrong Trouser Length: I usually like it when men fold over their jeans, but only 1 out of 100 instances is successful. The 99% just folds it because they really do not think it needs to be shortened. I don't wanna be mean, but if you are over 18 years old, you will NOT gain height. Deal with it.

3.Sleeveless T-Shirts: Do not wear those. Neither at the gym, nor at the beach. Burn them. It is looks better to walk around half naked.

4. Shoes: The examples above may seem a bit dramatic, but choosing shoes seems to be a real chore for men. You are lucky enough to be able to wear the same kind of shoes day and night, so make some quality choices. Nike airsoles, All-stars and mocassin like shoes are at the top of my list. Please, avoid the shiny or pointy ones, unless your last name is Travolta.

5. Sunglasses: You may think I am shallow, but when I meet a man I always wanna check his sunglasses. Ray-Ban is at the top of my list, either Aviators or Wayfarers, those sunglasses bring out the cool factor at every man. Do not do a statement with your shades, please. You make me scared.

6. Visible Undershirt: Are you afraid you'll catch a cold? Then stay home. For God's shake, that is unacceptable for men under 60 years of age. Exception: I like visible undershirts under a knitted jumper, showing from the v-neck.

7. Accessories: Those silicon watches need to be burned in fashion hell. Giant belt buckles should be banished from mass production. All a man needs is a watch. If you are style-proficient a pair of simple cufflinks will amaze me, too. Nothing more, please.

8. Raised Polo Collar: In case you are Count Dracula, it is okay by me, you have built a whole career with that collar. If you have nothing to do with Dracula, stay away from my sight.

9. Jewellery: Are you a surfer from California? No. Are you P. Diddy? No. Are you a pimp? I hope not. Stay away from these polluting fashion details, then. Exception: I l-o-v-e piercings, if you go the piercing way, no matter how many of them you have, go for the SIMPLEST and SMALLEST pieces of jewellery.

10. Labelling: In that matter, men seem to be worse than women. I do not wanna know where your clothes come from. I want you to look good in them. A t-shirt that costs a ridiculous amount of money will not make you look neither more interesting, nor a better person.

This is such a quick update, but exams come to an end by Wednesday, when I will be able to do some new outfit posts! Until then, let me introduce you my lovely little creature, Bukitsa (Μπουκίτσα -sounds much better in Greek-), that has taken my mind away from the very first time she came to our house. When we first got her she was tiny and thin, but as you can see, some months later, that is not a fact at all. I didn't do anything interesting through the weekend, as I was half-ill spending my time in sweatpants, sleeping and reading. 3 more days, and I'll get a life, I swear!

DIY: The Easiest Statement Necklace

That's it, it's ready!

I never buy things that I can make on my own, that's the rule. I was walking downtown, and I was looking around, when a wonderful piece (exactly like that) caught my eye. In the window of a central shop, it was dangling, so beautiful and shiny! Price tag: 95E. Ok. Moving on. Thanks for the inspiration, though!

I had 2 bracelets I never wear just because, when put together, they are so loud and they get on my nerves. So, I did both, a gold-brown and a silver-black combination, using double string(that is completely up to you, I preferred it to look fuller). Price tag: 3E for the leather strings, I am so proud of me! ;) Try it, it is easy and it looks so boho-deluxe-unusual-impressive.

The lace gloves were bought in Beyond Retro, a second hand/vintage shop in Sweden, which I love vistiting when in Gothenburg. You cannot imagine how many dresses from the 70s I've found, in the style of Nicole Richie! Style Matters: Top 6 Disastrous Details

If fashion was a religion, those would be the six sins of style:

1.Shiny Tights: Tights can be the trickiest part when dressing up.Most women mistakenly underestimate its contribution to a spotless look and go for the cheapest choice; as an outcome SHINY, NYLON-COVERED LEGS EVERYWHERE! No matter how much your dress costs, if the pantyhose is cheap, be sure, it will show. Solution: I do not recommend Wolfords, they're insanely expensive (and when you wear tights you know in advance that they will get destroyed, sooner or later). Just go to an underwear shop, ask the assistant for some help and when you find the right pair, stock up!

2.Poor Quality Hair Extensions: Extra hair is OK, but only if you intend to spend a respectable amount of money in order to get it. Plus, you need the precious help of a professional to make the fuss of finding the perfect color/quality match for you. You cannot save on that, unless you like Barbie quality hair.

3.Clear Bra Straps: I don't know what to say, I don't know what the inventor was thinking, I want to forget that I was -proudly- wearing those in my sweet 13 years of age (I bet I was just happy to wear a bra, please forget that I mentioned that shameful fact about me), and some women continue that massacre of style. JUST STOP THE MADNESS!

4.Acrylic Nails: They belong to the 90s.That's it. They are just tacky (the longer, the worse). And they look cheap, they did even when Victoria Beckham had them on. Go for the simple way, with a thorough manicure all hands can look good. Pick any color you want, even the freakiest one. Just stay away from those, they are not Vogue-ish at all!

5. Underwear Showing: I bet nobody wants the world to know his/her prefered kind of panties. Seamless ones are the cornerstone of every stylish underwear drawer. I swear by them, too.

6. Muffin Look: When you feel fuller than usual just stay away from your tight jeans. Lovehandles are great, curvy women too, but if you went up a size through holidays, prefer size 30 instead of your usual 29. You will look -and feel- better. When you lose that extra weight, go back to your old jeans. (Tip: buy 1-2 pairs of jeggings, they are the absolute solution to PMS tummy). The last picture is what I call "builder's back". I intentionally avoid commenting on it. Nothing more self-humiliating.

It's been such a cozy week, trying to get better.

Staying home, drinking warm beverages, writing, watching TV, reading books and doing nothing important at all. Talking about going out, I only went to the gym and did a bit of cheering-up shopping, just to break the routine. Plus, I am avoiding every coffee house/ bar in order to avoid smoke. Thus, I really have nothing important to write about. I cough all day long. Influenza sucks.

The zebra bracelet was a spontaneous gift from my most beloved person, almost 5 years ago, and it still is by far one of my most favorite pieces ever. Sending a cyber kiss.

Hello everybody!

I am still down with the flu. I sleep 15 hours a day, I drink tons of orange juice, I am on medication but I am still unable to feel strong and active as always. The pictures above were taken 5 days ago, actually I think that taking off my jacket and walking around in a T-Shirt, in zero temperature was a nice way to catch a cold. So, I worth the whole trouble, I guess...

I spend my time slouching around, thinking about projects, writting stuff, preparing things. 2011 didn't start perfectly well, but it will get better, that's for sure! Plus, for the first time I got a couple of New Year Resolutions: 1. Sleep, at least, 8 hours a day. 2. Do something helpfull for other people every day.

Happy New Year lovelies!

I wanted the first post of 2011 to be artistic and glamorous, and my sister did a great job with the pictures!

Yesterday night I wore that red satin corset, bought in a grunge shop in Sweden, last August. I love the way it shapes a woman's figure (BUT it has the structure of an original, Renaissance corset so, believe me, I could barely breathe).

Last Year was a precious one to me. No matter the hardships (come on, we are all human after all, nobody can be happy all the time), I had many amazing new experiences, I learned so many new things and above all, I met you. No matter if I know you in person or via cyber texting, your presence keeps me going on. I wish the New Year will give you a different reason to feel blessed every single day.

All I want to share with you is a saying that a good friend of mine told me yesterday:

I am relaxing in my hometown (that means I do nothing all day, but eating huge amounts of food, sleeping 14 hours a day and going out with loving friends!). Style Matters: At The Gym

Well, when I am out and about in the city, I am quite a people-observer. I usually get inspired, like what I see or even feel like poking those girls/guys, asking them "What were you thinking?" Over the last year, I've turned into a fitness freak, and all these hours walking on the treadmill I could do nothing but look at the people around me. So, according to my hard gained experience, there are some style matters you have to be careful, when exercising:

GYM STYLE TRAPS:

Sheer Leggings: Please girls, make sure that, when bending, your leggings do not turn into pantyhose. It is not very Chanel to let your underwear show!
Many Accessories: It is nice to wear a ring, a pendant or a nice pair of simple stud earrings, but it is quite a disaster for the rest to hear you jingling, so avoid bangles and many necklaces, gym is not the place to make an accessory statement.
Low-rise Pants: The builder's butt NEVER looked sexy, or at least feminine.
Destroyed Clothing: You don't need to walk around dressed top-to-toe in Juicy Couture velours tracksuits, but you should avoid by any means holey clothes, over-shortened pants, advertising T-shirts and pyjama stuff (oh, yes, I see those kinds of irrational things every single day).
Towel: Prefer a simple monochrome one, a plain white or a striped one. Avoid whatever your grandmother kept from the 70s.
Sweat Stains: There are some colors that make sweat stains look even worse. If you do not like the wet look (even worse, the "I peed-on-myself" look), prefer black, dark grey, neutral tones or any kind of color that comes in dry-fit textiles (Nike is a specialist in those).
Heavy Make-up: Usually a concealer, mascara, blush and a lipgloss will do the job. You can also use a thin eyeliner, only in case that you have your eyes on that super-gorgeous gym guy. But, again, you have to be really careful, you do not want your make up melt and look like a clown.
Sunglasses: I am still searching for an answer, why some people keep on wearing shades in the gym, even if there are no sight problems?

After so many hours of standing in high heels throughout the weekend, I felt like my feet hated me. So, what is better than a pair of airsoles? I bought those Nike ones 3 months ago, and I am usually wearing those at the gym, but that day even my All-Stars seemed to be a pain in the ass. Dear Skylines, I would wear you forever!

Actually, I love sportswear but it is not really obvious in my blog. I spent many hours in training clothes because they are comfy and include that "easygoing" thing, I absolutely adore. So, stay tuned! Something that has to do with that is on the way!

Random Today's Facts

The weather in Greece is awfully hot, I didn't have the chance to wear anything really winter-like yet.
My legs are full of mosquito bites, and I am constantly putting on Fenistil gel (for God's sake, it's 12/2)
My eyes look like they have a different color (notice pictures 2 and 3). Sorry, but the red eye reduction programme makes my eyes look a bit green. They are brown though, I'm not wearing lenses.
I have no free time at all (as usual), exercising and working suck every glimpse of strength out of me.
Last night, after returning from a party with my friend F., we had a close encounter with a total criminal freak, I am still shocked guys!
I am working on some articles, we are gonna have some fun style-talk through the next days in Style Nirvana! I am always keen on learning your point of view in style matters!

I don't know whether, or not, you agree with those lyrics; I bought those 14cm heels a couple of weeks ago, because I was amazed by the way they looked on my feet. I instantly knew that they would be a great deal of trouble for my feet, but I never imagined that I would not be able to stand still for more than 2 hours. Complete disaster girls, you can try this ONLY at home.

Ok then, I'm compromised to 12cm. They look pretty feminine, and I can walk in those. These shoes will be worn only on special occasions. Do you like them too?

This may seem quite irrelevant to you, but I am listening to that song almost every day. I am a huge fan of John Lennon and every single time I listen to Imagine, I firmly believe that it is a poem, not just a song, so meaningful that it should be taught in schools. I've been very observant with the world lately (just one of those phases in my life that I wanna talk to nobody), and that song was constantly on the repeat, giving me goosebumps every single time. (John, I really love you)

I bought these shoes a week ago, during one of my usual "excursions" to Zara. I was in a bad mood and I needed something to cheer me up. I was wearing them through the weekend and all I have to say is that they are the most comfortable pair of high-heeled shoes I own. Their price is unbeliavable, so if you come across them... go for it!

I just came home after 4 days in my hometown (election days, that is), my house is a mess and I have to clean everything, do my homework for tomorrow and update my social media. Oh, and my friend, Christopher, is joining the army tomorrow, so, I am sending him an enormous kiss and tons of good vibes. Already missing him.

It's a pure fact, I know almost nothing about technology stuff, but -at last- I managed to make some changes concerning the blog appearance. What is more, I am planning some different posts that I am gonna keep as a secret for some days more! I hope you'll like them.

This cardi is from a store for plus sized women, I saw it, I tried it on, I loved the knitting and the color, so here it is. Shopping without borders, that is.

Hello everybody!

We were photoshooting the other day and that cute stray dog just kept on staring us. When I sat down, that sweetie came near me so, I guess, we have a visitor here! I didn't want to push it away (I love animals, and I swear I would kill anybody who treats them bad) so we had to take some pictures together (my eyes look like a question mark).

I would like to send you a big cyber hug for all those lovely birthday wishes, you are the ones who made me wanna get better and better and I feel I owe you much! I am working on the new design of Style Nirvana and I hope that until the next post everything will seem quite different. Hello lovelies!
I am happy to inform you that today it's a very happy date for me, as my blog is a year old! One year ago, I started blogging without having the slightest idea about how all these things work. Today , I still lack the knowledge for many important facts, but I sure as hell learned A LOT; about style, photography, make up, life, literally everything! Not to mention that I have met so many amazing people that I would never meet otherwise (you know who you are guys, love you all!) With your feedback, I have managed to become better with the pass of time, and I hope that many amazing years of blogging are about to come.

Style Nirvana is not about trends or what's new in the world of fashion. I am not a fashion expert but I really love expressing my personality through the choice of accessories and giving you little tips that you can embody in your everyday life. I am just a normal sized girl, nothing to do with a model, that adores fashion and styling, food, magazines and anything that has to do with having fun.

A big thanks to all the 773 of you (just WOW), and to all those who read my blog without being followers
(that's ok too!). I have met many of you in person, I hope I'll meet many more in the future, I can't wait!

I just got home, after 5 relaxing days in my hometown. 3 out of those days, it was raining cats and dogs, so when I found the right chance on Saturday I had to take some outdoor outfit pictures!

When it comes to shopping, I think without limitations. Experience (and endless hours of watching Sex and the City) has taught me that when you love personal expression and style, you can manage to combine ridiculously expensive designer pieces with really cheap deals and look like a fashion goddess. Personally, I like to discover little fashion treasures from any departement, such as that fabulous mongolian-like waistcoat, bought from the Zara kids departement (if you are one of those blessed normal sized girls, that place has always something good to surprise you) . I also like to shop from the H&M boys' departement (perfect Tees) and, of course, from Men's departement for perfect hoodies, Tees and loose fitting jeans.

I would love to hear your opinion about those departements, come on, hit me!

Just a quick post to keep you updated, as I am leaving for the weekend to my hometown! Today I think I've been walking for miles, as I 've been downtown for 9 hours or so; right now I have to do my suitcase, catch the bus and go home, where my mum will pamper me for good! We have a family reunion, as my dad is back from Sweden, and he will stay for a month (yay, for the presents!). Oh, and I did a lot of shoe shopping these days, probably I will post the "new in" as soon as I have time. Mwah!

Hello lovelies! Today I feel quite exhausted, as my day began at 6 sharp, I've been at the University for over 9 hours, it's been raining and the other day I've lost my umbrella, my hair turned crazy and I ate much stupid and greasy carbs.

About the pictures, this was my last day at Sweden, so excuse my face condition (that's what happens when you don't sleep for more than 3 days). I know I look sad and tired, but I love those leggings and I wanted to share those pictures of my short affair with the Haribo Bear with you!

Actually, I went for a really simple look that time, as my travel to Sweden was coming to an end (maybe you can sense the sad face behind those big shades), and I was not in the mood of getting dressed up. An Arab guy trimmed my edges and plucked my eyebrows with a thread (if you haven't tried it, please do ladies!), and it was really weird, as I never let any kind of man to mess with my beauty routines.

I feel kind of sick today, I hope I will not be ill tommorow.

What is the definition of vintage?
Vintage are many things, there is no actual definition. In order for something to be vintage, it needs to be 20 years old. Vintage is fun, nostalgic, classic, stylish, ecological, authentic. When you buy vintage, one thing you know for sure, that it will never go out of season, because fashion always looks back when it comes to ‘new’ trends. In many occasions vintage means it is old and has been pre-worn. Wearing vintage gives you the chance to re-live a part of history.

How would you describe people’s attitudes towards vintage shopping?
Vintage shopping is new in Greece but in many countries is a major way of shopping. One reason we wanted to open a vintage shop in Greece, was because we wanted to give a different and inspiring way of shopping besides the already known. At first people were suspicious of vintage and had a certain attitude towards it, like its second-hand, old, smelly and also that is only a new trend. Vintage is not a new trend, it was here before us and still is. Due to the publicity that has now been given to vintage in Greece, people who didn’t know about it, they do now and they are more open and interested in finding a vintage treasure.

Has the economy changed shopping mentality?
Of course the economy has changed the shopping mentality. And as an optimistic that I am, I believe that it has changed them in a good way. People now have 2 things in mind when they go shopping 1) do I need it, and 2) the value-price. With this new attitude which is more value and price oriented, people are seeking for more authentic, economical pieces, that will last for long time. Which is why vintage shopping will benefit from this, because when buying vintage you know that every item is unique and you’ll be the only one wearing it. Moreover it is affordable and if you treat it gently it will last you forever.

The pieces in Wear Vintage are coming from various decades which decade is your favourite and what intrigues you the most about it?

Yes in Wear Vintage we represent different decades like 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and some of 50s.

My favourite decade for years used to be the 80s, as I was born in the decade, and I love the music and the colourful and dynamic clothes. But lately I found myself being intrigued by the 50s, I love the feminine and chic style, the girly dresses and matchy accessories.

Are you a vintage clothing collector yourself? What is your favourite piece?
Oh yes I am, and a proud one, there are my little treasures. My vintage collection started from an early age, when I was hiding in my mothers closet trying to find one of a kind pieces that I would incorporate to my style. My favourite piece used to be my mom’s black corduroy coat that was a gift to her by her uncle in a trip to Paris, but unfortunately it had a bad ending (stolen). Now my new favourite piece is again something I got from my mom and its a black leather clutch from Venice.

Where do you get the clothing from?
Our hand-picked vintage collection in the shop comes from our trips to Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Antwerp and London. In the near future we plan to travel to Paris, Milan and many more places.

Hit us with some vintage shopping tips.
If you are new in vintage, I would advise you to start with something small, like a bag, scarf etc and incorporate it to your style. It’s always preferable to mix and match modern with vintage pieces, never dress from head to toe in vintage, people will think you are wearing a costume.

What is next for Wear Vintage?

Those days are really hectic, I am trying to get everything into order, work on my new ideas and reorganize my daily life. Surprisingly, I seem to manage it really well. I continue with the second tag, coming from the super talented Artemis (that girl knows really well how to apply make-up, check her out!). Here we go:

Too Much Information

First of all, we shall take a little break from the Sweden posts, as I have been tagged by 3 wonderful fellow bloggers, so here we go: the first tag was by my beloved Beauty Editor, the well known "What's in my purse" tag. Well, the content of my bag changes from day to day, but concerning today, that is all I've been carrying with me. Some of the things may look a bit odd to you, but it's me! Light magazines, many beauty stuff, a notebook to write down my thoughts and inspirations, tickets, socks (!), whatever! Plus, I almost always carry an umbrella and 2 pairs of sunglasses, but they are not present in the picture.

What is more, I have some a really nice piece of information to share with you: last Saturday, a bunch of bloggers teamed up with Wear Vintage, the first greek vintage on-line shop, to pose for the winter lookbook, in a real surrealistic concept. I'm sure you'll love the results, as we had a really fun time doing the whole thing; plus, it is always nice to meet people who share a true love for that thing called fashion. I'll post the results as soon as I get them, now just take a sneak peek from what is going to follow! Yes, I know! I am really pale, just like Nicole Kidman. When people in Sweden asked me where I am from, they couldn't believe that I am from Greece. See, when they hear about Greece they automatically think of sea, sun and tan (and the economic recession, of course). I was having a really fun time when photoshooting there, I bet you can see by yourselves!

It was awfully raining that day, so I decided to have an indoor photo shoot (plus, I love that crimson color). Yes, I know, the shoes were not a really wise choice...

Let me introduce you to the new member of my purse family: that Marc by Marc sweetheart was love from the first sight, so I decided to make it mine. Plus, all of my everyday purses are huge (and no matter what, they are always full), so I already feel some pain on my elbows. Ιt is late September and it is awfully hot in Greece. For me though, that is a good thing because my Swedish outfits do not seem so out of the season. Summer in Sweden is a bit odd. It is usually cold and rainy, but this one was a pleasant surprise. Temperatures were medium high, almost 20 to 25 degrees in the day and the sun was shining the most of the time. So, what was better than enjoying nature? Sweden is full of parks, forests, lakes and amazing patches of green everywhere around. How could I escape falling in love with it?

That yellow little bag was one of my favorite purchases, as it was dated back to the 1967 and I found it at Beyond Retro, an amazing second hand place you can find only in Sweden and London.

The photos where far too many, and I really couldn't decide, so I posted many of them (sometime I may have a post with all the unpublished pictures I love, I think you will like them too!)

What I love more when visiting a foreign country is seeking for small fashion treasures, hidden in small basements and unseen vintage shops. Whenever I shop for vintage or second hand, I can sense the history carried by every object. The difficult part is the amount of time needed to check all the garments one by one (but I have to point out that this is the fun part of the game). If you ever find a shop like this, pay special attention to the leather goods section, I found amazing Italian leather bags of extemely high quality in amazingly low prices.

Sweden was a wonderful place to be, once again! I really had a wonderful time and I took many pictures that I am going to share with you the following days. The last 2 months have been really exhausting for me, but I am back to base now, and everything starts to feel right again. Let me introduce you the newest member of our family, Boukitsa (her name means Tiny Bite in Greek), our little bunny that lives with us for almost a month. She is so cute and fluffy, I could cuddle her all day long. Too bad I have to leave her for such a long time, I already feel guilty.

Right now, I am going to meet some of my friends, and then the worst part of travelling: I have to finally organise my suitcase, I think I am having a nightmare guys. Tommorow afternoon I am flying to Gothemburg and I couldn't be more excited about that! When in Sweden, I will try to have one or maybe two posts per week, in order to keep you updated!
