Lady Luck

I bet each year has its ups and downs, and the perpetual human need to believe that better things are on the way is yet to be overcome. Following the natural course of life one would say that moments, good or bad, should be cherished cause one by one they mold individuals into the people they are supposed to be. Regardless of any deep thought, I bet most of you are in search of christmas presents for your beloved ones, and so am I. Sweaters, gadgets, accessories, that's all amazing, but in those cases that you are not able to come up with a decent idea, a new year lucky charm will always do the job.
Zoulovits  homestore was kind enough to contact me in order to review their beautiful lucky charms, and I couldn't do otherwise, taking into consideration their well-organised and extra stylish online shop, along with the wide range of quality products and services they offer to their clients. Despite the array of superb home products one may come across, the lucky charm sector is here to amaze you as well. Elements of the greek folk tradition paired with up-to-date elements lead to beautiful little thingies that will impress even the most demanding eye. I couldn't help but go for a minimal red and gold pomegranate, standing for luck, fertility and wealth, already hanging on my wall.

While paying a visit to do not forget to click on the Special Lucky Charm of the year, this little golden paper boat. Every single purchase of the certain charm will offer one euro to the Greek SOS villages, and it will be accompanied by a card claiming their good purpose. Stylish, classy and meaningful at the same time, these lucky charms make an amazing stocking stuffer. May this Christmas be as joyful and lush these colors on the charms look, offering you health, wealth and luck.

Dear Santa

It's the most wonderful time of the year, as the world-famous old song claims, and children throughout the world work on their santa letters, just as grown ups work on their new year resolutions. No matter how severe your new year decisions will be, make sure that you allow yourself a little indulgement, either it's food, alcohol or shopping, in order to make the last chapter of 2014 a really spicy one. So, what would be better than a brand new, luxurious bag that will accompany you for the next years to come as the most stylish companion ever? Make sure that you go for a plush choice, made from fine, butter-soft leather, in a neutral color that will look good with most of your outfits. Just like putting on a new ornament on the christmas tree, consider your purchase as a stylish ornament for your wardrobe. After all, Christmas is the best time of the year to cater for that little brat inside us, and embrace our inner goddess just a little more. Enjoy the beginning of your holidays lovelies!

Bare Essentials

Is it even possible that we went through the previous winters of our lives without our parka jackets on? A massive trend, growing bigger every time the temperature goes a little lower, the khaki parka is the absolute substitute to your beloved leather perfecto, as it looks good, keeping you cozy at the same time. I don't know whether it's the "model-off-duty" look it aspires or the female need for cuteness-plus-comfort, but these green beauties are here for good. Make sure that the item of your choice has a fur lining that is easy to detach and its length is sufficient to cover your back. It comes in an array of colors, like black, beige or white, but olive green remains the key. Choose wisely, because an item like this is meant to be kept for many of the following seasons. Here follow some amazing pieces, just to make your life easier:

Sweater Weather

Only Sweater Dress available in Spartoo.Gr
The weather got abrubptly chilly here in Greece, and sweater mood is officially on. An avid supporter of cozy knits as I may be, I wouldn't feel happier about it. Huge knits, warm coffee, hugs and statement accessories are some of the winter cliches to follow, no matter the collection commandments. I always go for fluffy, neutral colored ones, but some fun ones always spice up my work outfits. Versatility is the key, so you may pair them with heels or trainers, and they'll look equally elegant. Make sure you avoid the bulk by wearing a tight overcoat or perfecto on top, as the female waist is a feature to be underlined at all times. Beige, grey, black and white are some of the staples every female wardrobe has to feature, but this season you may also go for golden and burgundy hues as they are much more matchable than they may seem. No matter their style, make sure you wear these beauties with a smile. That's how they will look perfect.

It's a commonplace for my adult self to love what I used to hate in my teenagehood; it all started with Converse, it went on with  r n' b music, and it recently resulted in Vans (God knows where it's going). I got my first Vans pair, a leopard -what else?- beauty a couple of months ago and I guiltily confessed that, hell, they really are much more comfortable than my beloved All Stars, yet not so beautiful. I am really into patterned pairs, but I am also lurking over those wine reds. And no matter how I am not what you'd call a fan of skater boys (yeap, I guess I am too old for this shit) I simply cannot resist the easygoingness of a hunk wearing a pair of limited edition, Star Wars themed Vans along with a fancy backpack (minus the skateboard). So, skater-friendly or not, a nice pair would absolutely be a must for your autumn strolling and your leaf-themed Instagram shots, so I would definitely recommend to give these a try even if you are not the type.  Regret is not an option.

Black Is The New Black

August 10th, and what a better way to start your Sunday than some new collections' pondering. Unless you are at the beach. But if you are not, you must have already noticed the wide spectrum of fashion editorials devotedly talking about the new season's must-haves. As far as everyone can see, the upcoming collections were quite conservative at first place, asking for quality and simplicity in lines. The 90s are here for one more season to come, and luscious textiles are the king of the new fashion era. Gray hues, burgundy and gemstone colors are here to stay, but -to be fair and square- one is the shade that has never been out of style, black.
One may have said 'Red? Nah, I already own a pair.' or 'Blue? I got one last season, that's enough.' but noone has ever dared to say that they have enough black shoes. That's why every single season designers put all their effort to amaze their clients once again by reinventing the most basic part of the color spectrum. Leather or not, studded or simple, these are some of the new ins that got me thinking about what is needed to update my wardrobe fot the new season. A pair of black booties will surely be at the peak of my list, along with a pair of high-heeled everyday boots. What about you?

Have fun with the rest of your holidays.
Big kiss,

Sales Raid

Sales time is officially on in most countries, and I bet you have already taken a stroll in the local shopping centres to see what's going on. It is quite easy to get carried away by the array of offers -you know how striking those *60% off* signs are- and return home with a bunch of beautiful, yet unecessary goodies. Careful planning and budget monitoring will do the job for you; keep in mind that wise buys will save you time and money in the close future, so avoid buying that extra summer dress and invest in:
  • quality underwear, as even your most expensive dress will lose its charm if your thong is giving you that evil, muffin-top look.
  • expensive trainers and sports apparel that you will probably find 40% off. Keep your money for the new season's stiletto tsunami that is just around the corner.
  • one or two formal dresses that will come in handy in the plethora of events taking place through summertime, like weddings and christenings.
  • denim. Denim shirts, denim trousers, denim jackets, you name it. Those beauties are so versatile, they won't even dare to disappoint you.
  • leather bags. No matter how much time I have to wait, a designer bag will always be at the top of my list, irrespective of the season. Choose a single-colored one and let your future wardrobe nod thanks.
Have an amazing shopping spree!

A Man Out of You

FrontRowShop Shirt, Asos Sunglasses, Zara Shorts

When it comes to clothes, one of the few things I despise wearing is shirts. Maybe it's something about the collar, making me feel suffocated or simply old. That's why one can never spot me buying these, unless they are made for men; men shirts are to be loved through all seasons as they are hindering no movement, they are stylish (Carrie Bradshaw would nod "yes"), and they definitely scream personal expression. The bad thing is that their shoulder line usually looks odd on female bodies, even in the smallest of sizes. Nevertheless, this one I got from the Front Row Shop has been a pleasant surprise; it is a manly shirt made for women, it's 100% cotton, it's buttoned in the front and in the back and it is long enough to cover your butt, creating that feeling of nudity beneath (please, wear some shorts, you don't need to take risks like that).

The Birthday Gal Is Pondering

Birthdays have taught me that through life you can choose one out of two roads; to grow old, or to grow up. You grow old when you go with the flow, when you choose safety, when you are afraid to take risks because you feel "too old for this shit". You let yourself grow old when you lose hope, when you don't believe in tremendous meanings like love, faith, peace, equality. When you stop fighting for your dreams. Sure there will be ups and downs -that's the fun part I guess- but I decided never to grow old. Be brave enough to grow up and mature. Be playful, be optimistic, look on the bright side and things will rise and shine. Grow up and accept that life is life, discuss with kids, listen to the weak, imitate the courageous ones, sympathise, listen, understand. At least keep trying. Αnd if there is one thing I have learnt through the course of my short life is that life always gives you back what you offered. Ι'm growing up and I love it. Wishing you all the best from the bottom of my heart.

That Extra Half An Inch

Summer is officially here and I bet you have already prepared your shopping lists for the new season. Last year I shopped for some absolute basics, like a pair of denim shorts and some boyfriend jeans, (you know how difficult it is to find a nice fitting core, right?) along with many white vests and plain palazzo pants. As we are talking, I haven't yet managed to organise my wardrobe essentials in a proper manner -there is so much going on at the moment- but as far as I can imagine, only some little details are needed to complete my summer looks list. Like a pair of dressy sandals, cause I only own wedges, or a luscious gown for all these summer weddings I have to attend. I may also need a nice fitting blazer, in floral or a simple white version. And I also find these Mel beauties as a nice substitute to Havaianas, because of that pink camellia stuck on them, which is so Chanel.
All images are property of Spartoo.Gr
Espadrilles also continue to be on the forefront of style for another summer to come, and despite the fact that I am not much into them, I think they are cute enough to be worn with day dresses and folded jeans. My favorite item would also be that sleeveless pinstripe tuxedo jacket which looks amazing when worn unbuttoned with a bralet top in white, or super classy when worn as a top, with some high-waisted white shorts. Nautical stripes, leopard details, broderie anglaise, coral hues, all these details are here to spice up your basic outfits of the season. Go for that extra half an inch that will make you stand out from the crowd,  simply by making wise choices while shopping.

Enjoy the beginning of a wonderful season!

These Little Joys

Three months ago, almost at the beginning of the new season, I came across the certain jumpsuit in the newly-founded Zara online shop. Having a wardrobe whose sizes vary from XS to M, I couldn't really pick the right one, so I decided to try it on real life. Of course, it was nowhere to be found in the actual shop and I had to eventually forget about it -God knows how I hate return procedures-. Some time ago though, as I was browsing through I came across it -or something quite similar to it- HALF PRICE. Plus, the sizing chart was so detailed that I didn't have to give it a second thought. And, free shipping. Oh, these simple joys.
