Macademia Natural Oil Goodies

pictures are property of BeautyBay
My hair and I, we have an intense love affair since my childhood. I have always kept them long, shiny and pampered with the best of hair products. There is no other beauty ritual that I respect more than deeply nourishing remedies for hair and skin. I have never cut them short, dyed them, treated them badly. I am one of the worst/ most boring salon customers, as I have them cut twice or three times top; they never end up with split ends or dullness, and that's a lucky thing, I guess.

For this reason, I always seek for the best of hair treatments/ products; throughout the last year I've been stuck to Macadamia Natural Oil products, which I always buy from Beauty Bay.com. I am not going to talk about their deep repair mask or their healing oil treatment, as every woman that has tried them swears by their name for many years to come. I am going to present their amazing range of Natural Boar bristle brushes that I added to my collection (two curling ones and the paddling brush shown above), as my old ones didn't seem to work anymore.

These cute beauties are made of 100% boar bristles,  they are high-heat resistant and have been specifically designed for the purpose of creating healthy more manageable hair with fantastic shine. Boar bristles have incredible health benefits for your hair and scalp, distirbuting your natural sebum oil to the hair shaft and sealing the cuticle. The boar is also gentler on the hair, averting the harsh damage and breakage caused by plastic bristles. Use in conjuction with macadamia oil treatment or spray oil to dramatically intensify these benefits even further.

Any tips for extra healthy hair are always welcome!

Back to Basics with American Apparel

all images are property of Spartoo.Gr
Just a few years ago I was really into patterns. Throughout the past few years though, I have developed a great love for the timeless classics. Black, white, grey and other basic colors of simple lined t-shirts, tanks, hoodies or shirts combined with bold or even extravagant accessories like huge gold necklaces or bold bangles in deluxe ethnic prints, body harnesses and anything that may come to your mind. American Apparel is a company that has unequivocally succeeded in creating the absolute line of basics, keeping the correct ratio of price and quality. This sweatshop-free company, a term coined back in 2002, employs motivated and highly-paid employees that have a voice concerning the direction of the company and have nothing to do with the competitor counterparts that usually employ under-aged workers for less than 600$ per year. American Apparel remains one of the largest sewing facilities in North America, at the same time with being an environmentally friendly corporation, devoted to sustainable and ethical manufacturing in California, the state with the strictest and most progressive EPA standards in the USA. You can easily find many of their designs in Spartoo.Gr, neat and tidy, just like that. If you don't already have some of their pieces, a try may convince you.

Featured in Tattoologist

Just some hours ago I've been informed by one of you that, almost a month ago, I've been featured in one of my most beloved tattoo blogs, Tattoologist. Woo-hoo!!! I'm so excited.
Check the link here.

Big kiss!

Breezy Afternoons

Sometimes, when I look at my wardrobe, I can't help but recall my teenage years; I really believe that I had a horrible taste (who didn't after all?) and I feel very happy for making that great progress throughout the last decade. Nevertheless, my sweet tendency towards jean jackets has remained the same. It's amazing how much fashion has changed since 2003, but owning the correct denim jacket has always been the place to begin when it comes to sudden sea breezes, windy afternoons or simple layering techniques. I own a Levi's Red Tab one since 2002 (oh, God), bought with my own pocket money, that has been worn and customized to death. It's completely distressed now (that's the beauty of denim) and I still refuse to give it away or stop wearing it. That is what I call an investment. Thirteen years later, I decided to adopt a little brother for it, but these to pieces deserve a post by themselves, so wait for it.

I guess that denim jackets is no news to any of you. More or less, every one of us owns one or more different styles of them. Consequently, the next step would be some other statement pieces that would style up your summer outfits, on these breezy summer afternoons (chilly winds are a quite common phenomenon in the Greek islands, believe it or not). I am currently into neutral blazers worn with cropped tops and statement necklaces, or preppy jackets worn with rock T-shirts. No matter what, bold colors have made their comeback and they look lovely paired with white shorts and sky high sandals. I really adore their pink and red versions, that look good either with jeans or with evening gowns. Just browse the online markets and the correct one will magically appear. And Spartoo.Gr is the place to begin!

Damsel in Distress

only tee, stradivarius sequined shorts, zara shoes
Υou have to be (or have been) a very close person to me to know my deep anxiety towards birthdays. It may be that, in our birthdays, we come across the fact that life goes by so quickly, or the sense that someone you love is missing from the picture on your special day. It may also be that we tend to deadline our dreams, like "When I'm 25, I must have achieved this and that" and the inevitable feeling of disappointment that comes when you realize that your goals are yet to be achieved. I seriously believe that all these gloomy thoughts have urged people to create the tradition of birthday gifts, a kind gesture to make people escape from the reality. First world problems you may think, but I have A LOT OF free time to ponder all day, so here it is. No matter what, through the certain day I always feel blessed and grateful to have people in my life that do not need a Facebook notification to remember an event like this, relationships that have stood the test of time, and friends that try to cheer me up by getting drunk and making silly jokes. And every single year, the same old conclusion: the greatest gift of all is love. Love for yourself, love for the others, love for your past, love for your aspirations and a warm embrace for everything that is about to come. These two sides of a Gemini.

Seasiding

It's been officially 10 great days of being unemployed. Beauty sleep, shopping, having drinks with my friends, cyber window-shopping without having to look at the watch, reading books and -of course- planning my summer holidays. I have two or three Greek islands on my mind, but I'm still searching; the only thing I know for sure is that I need to shop for some extra necessities, that is, some new bikinis and some flip-flop pairs to match (I really like the word flip-flop, psycho much?).

The obvious point to start with is a new pair of Havaiana beauties. They come in an array of colours, something that may hinder the choosing process of the perfect pair for you, but no worries. Take an extra pair just in case, as they are pretty inexpensive. Their buttery soft texture has made me count -already- three pairs; a silver one, a pink and a purple. If only I could wear those in town (I don't).

Gisele's personal favorite,  Ipanema is a noteworthy successor to the classic Havainas. Ipanema pairs are equally fashionable, colorful and comfortable. Furthermore, their cute heart and bow designs make them look even more girly and cute. I think about getting that gold pair, as my collection lacks one.

And last but not least, Mel jelly shoes, which I find unbearably beautiful. Their designs are usually away from the classic lines, something that makes them more urban-friendly. The only disadvantage is that when wet, they become really slippery -in contrast to the brands mentioned above- just because of their material (been there, done that- I almost broke my leg last year-). No matter what, I love my 3D pair and most of all I adore their smell, as it reminds me of those cute plastic shoes my mother used to buy me when I was a kid, in order not to step on anything dangerous while playing on the beach.

What will be your choice this year?

Nike Free Run 5.0+

purchased from Spartoo.Gr
As I've previously mentioned, one or a thousand times before, in Nike I trust. Ever since my childhood years Nike was the brand to chase, regarding my school sportswear. Years have passed and sports gear is not supposed to just be part of the PE lesson, but it can be quite of a fashion statement in the gym or during your power walk along the town. Depending on how hard you train, running shoes need to be replaced quite often (every 1-2 years). With the pass of time the certain kind of shoe remains quite suitable for walking around the city, but it no longer provides your knees with the appropriate support that will guarantee their welfare for many years to come. After my trusty Nike Lunar pair (years have passed and it's still intact on the outside), it was time to move on, so here it is; my new Nike Free Run 5.0+ babies, that are quite neutral to match with all my gym outfits, not to mention that unbelievable sense of comfort they offer. It feels like walking on clouds, and whoever has ever tried a pair like this surely knows that I could never exaggerate. If you are seriously searching for a running pair have a look at Spartoo.gr or at your closest Nike store. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.

Have a great Saturday honeys,
xoxo
